Primary Purpose:

Ensure efficient operation of assigned office and assist with administrative duties.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills

Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing

Knowledge of basic accounting principles

Interpersonal skills to develop a working rapport with colleagues, students and parents

Maintain professionalism

 

Experience:

Two years of clerical experience, preferably in public education environment

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  1. Maintain all scholarship deadlines, applications, and online files

 

  1. Maintain the WFHS-College & Career Website

 

  1. Assist students with completing applications for financial aid.

 

  1. Assist students with completing applications for post-secondary education.

 

  1. Assist students with completing ACT/SAT registration forms.

 

  1. Competently utilize Skyward student accounting system.

 

  1. Create and send reminders for events, activities, and deadlines.

 

  1. Create lists of students for field trips and activities.

 

  1. Communicate absences for college and career activities to attendance clerk.

 

  1. Provide technical support to students as they search college and career websites.

 

  1. Recommend websites to individual students and parents as needed.

 

  1. Create promotional material for the many activities performed by the office

 

  1. Coordinate field trip schedules.

 

  1. Participate in all field trips, tours, and career fairs as needed.

 

  1. Assist with testing as needed.

 

  1. Monitor students as needed.

 

  1. Become familiar with operations in the counseling office to be able to refer students as needed.

 

  1. Develop relationships with counselors, teachers, and administrators to be able to provide seamless assistance to students.

 

  1. Serve on Youth Leadership planning committee, selection committee, and assist with student meetings.

 

  1. Serve on Senior Send-Off committee, assist with, and plan Senior Send-Off.

 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  2. Regular attendance.
  1. Other related duties as assigned.

Equipment Used:

Copier, personal computer, typewriter, telephone, fax, and audiovisual equipment.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent sitting, walking, stooping, bending, maintain high level of manual dexterity, and lifting.
