Student Video Worker/Temporary

 

REPORTS TO:  Multimedia Specialist

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Work with the video production team in the streaming and video board operation of varsity games at Memorial Stadium, Legacy HS & Memorial HS.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Education/certification:
  • High School Student
  • Must be at least 16 years old
• Special Knowledge and Skills:
  • Able to work Tuesdays & Fridays during the school year
    • Not to interfere with school requirements
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with or interest in video production
  • Familiarity or interest in sports
  • Willingness to learn broadcast equipment
  • Willingness to learn camera shot selections
• Fingerprinting/Background Check/Physical:
  • Pass a class 1 background check
  • Fingerprinting

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Excellent listening and verbal skills
2. Operate cameras for varsity sporting events within the district
3. Operate video switcher for varsity sporting events within the district
4. Care for and maintain the proper use of video equipment
5. Work home games on nights and weekends (mostly Tuesdays & Fridays)
6. Setup & breakdown of broadcast equipment before and after games.
7. Regular Attendance.
8. Other duties as assigned.

 

EQUIPMENT USED: Broadcast cameras, tripods, video switchers, computers

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Mental Demands:

• Maintain professional conduct, especially in stressful situations
• Maintain focus in sometimes chaotic situations

 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: 

• Working outside in potentially extreme weather conditions
• Long periods of standing
• Able to climb a lot of stairs

 

Pay Grade: $10/hr
